Caught a Hawg Panfish

The photo doesnt do it justice... but the other photo I took of it had an error when it saved. I couldnt palm it (id assume it was 10in long x 6 in wide x 1 inch thick). Well over a pound... Its a hybrid bluegill of some sort.

Caught it on a black and blue 5/16 strike king swim jig with a 4in yamato double tail grub also in black and blue.

Nothing more fun than catching big gills with an ultra light rod - if they weighed 5lbs you'd never get one in!

haha he gave me a decent fight on a 6.5 foot pole with 10 pound test... let alone an ultra light.

definitely fun...more fun is catching trout though on a micro with 2 or 4 lbs test line!! always make a trip to bethel to do that a couple times throughout the year
