Went down there for a family reunion last weekend and my dad and I decided to fish a bit. Here's how it went:
The water was slightly stained and right about summer pool. Not much debris on the water but still had to watch for the stray piece of wood. The water was hot. Temps were in the high 70's to low 80's.
28th- fished from about 8:30pm till 2ish in the morning. Boated 9 I think. All within the slot. All on plastics and jigs. All but one was caught on the main lake. Most of the bass were holding tight to the bank. Action was pretty slow but steady.
29th- Fished from 10:15pm to 6:30 the next morning. Boated around 25. 4 were over 15in. all the rest ranged from really small to about 14in. Again, all were on plastics and jigs. Every fish was caught on the main lake. Fish were everywhere. We caught them tight to the bank, out on shallow flats, and out in deeper water. They hit steadily from around midnight to daylight. We didnt catch a single fish after the sun came up.
Overall, it was a good little outing. Didnt catch great sized fish but caught plenty. We werent fishing for $ so we didnt care.

fished conoloway area sunday am crack of dawn. threw buzz baits not a hit. Changed to plastics caught 4 bass one about 18 in. Tried crankbait 2 more bass and one nice walleye. Water was 81 degree and slightly murky. When the first jet ski comes out I usually quit and go home, however I came to lake to wage war on the gar's. Found a cove where they were hanging out and man the fight was on. If you've never tagged into a gar you don't know what you're missing.
we fished monday morning starting about 7 am. we trolled the banks back in the creeks and hit the secondary points and flooded trees. had three guys in the boat one caught 9, one caught 8, and the other caught 3. there were 3 white bass, 1 walleye, 2 crappie, one garr and the rest largemouth. two were decent size and we had two nice ones shake the lure at the boat. one guy also caught an 8 lb channel cat off the dock on a minnow. all the other fish came on crankbaits. water was stained and didnt catch anything once it got hot.
Nolin was on fire friday night. I dont know if it was the moon phase or what but heres what happen. Started fishing about dark. From then until 4:30 we boated 60 bass and most were 15+ keeepers. Big bass was 5.8 and lost another that i would say went 3-4 pounds. Tryed to lift it in the boat. Mistake ! I have been fishing nolin since i was 10 yrs old and never caught as many bass as we did friday night. Fished around m/dear area most of the night. Plastic worms in watermelon/red was their favorite. Junebug also produced well. I am having a great year bass fishing so far. I hope it keeps up ! Everyone have a nice day,jc
May be headed that way early friday morning... any reports up in the Wax area? how is the water color?
it was stained last weekend.
Heading to Noin today, haven't been back since the water dropped back to summer pool. Going to put in @ Moutardier. I'll let you all know how we do.
