Good Food, GREAT Friends...........FANTASTIC Fishing.
* We probably averaged 60-70 fish a day for 2 boats, and maybe 30 fish a day for the 3rd boat.
* Had 2 100 fish days with 2 different boats.......
* Caught 7 species of fish. Walleye, Smallies, LM Bass, Northerns, Lake Trout, Whitefish, and a couple Bluegills.
* Performed a Water Rescue.
* Ate fish 5 nights.
* Very minimal Rain........
I hope to have some pics and a report up in the next couple days.
Later,
Geo

It really makes it tough to fish around here after a trip like that.
I am not jealous at all
I am heading there Friday for a week of smally fishing myself. Seriously I go almost every year and it is not complicated. Apply for permit--- go catch fish. Inexpensive as it gets!!!!
No phones/tv's or traffic
Loons/ eagles / solidarity/fish good stuff
Geo, looking forward to reading your report. Congrats on a great trip!

Isn't it an AMAZING fisherie! We normally go every summer to Quetico, except this year to many of us had stuff going on.100+ fish days are the norm up there, with numerous 5+ pound fish to boot (smallies that is). What lakes did you all fish? We normally camp on Carp and do day trips to the surrounding lakes. I'm really going to miss not going this year. Were the pike hitting? Last year we went the pike were going NUTS! We got to the point that we were trying to keep the pike off, lol! Glad you return safe and had a great time......look forward to those pics!

Daytrips to Emerald, and Sheridan...........Birch, Basswood........all is good.
We did daytrips all over Basswood Lake........there is TONS of good water up there........I mean TONS.
I've not caught too many over 5 up there. I "delie" every fish that looks over 3lbs, so I have a pretty good idea of exactly how many 5's have been caught.
Pike were CRAZY........we caught a ton of them. The smallies were in full bore spawn mode. Water temps were pushing 70 on shallower lakes, and 65 on deeper lakes. They were not done though, which is CRAZY......the water warmed up crazy fast this year.
We ate walleye 3 nights, had lakers 1 night and cleaned some smaller 2lb smallies one night. The lakers were the BEST, and man oh man......talk about good.
I'm still waiting on pics from everyone else. Once I get them, I will put them on my website: http://www.geofisher.com .
Until then, go out there and checkout my 2005 or 2004 trip to Carp, Birch, Sheridan, Emerald, Plough, etc, etc. I have a buddy on this board, that caught 2 pushing 6lbs from some of those lakes.....
Later,
Geo
I am going to ask a stupid question. Where is Quetico? I've seen several post about it and how great the fishing is, but have no clue where its at. Sounds like a place i may want to try in the future so any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
