    Laurel River Lake-Sat. or Sun.

Headed to laurel river lake one day this weekend and dont know it too well. using the flatwoods ramp and have heard stick to that end for some bass fishing. went a couple weeks ago and managed a nice brown on a scrounger/fluke and a few really nice crappie on lipless crankbaits of all things but green bass were few and far between. Caught them on cranks...nothing on flipping plastics around.
Any advice for someone just wanting to feel a few on the end of a rod?
Thanks in advance and will post report when we get back.

While I haven't been on Laurel in a while, I will be on the lake tonight. That arm of the lake is better for largemouth than smallmouth. Usually in June my go to bait is any finesse plastic in watermelon red rigged texas rigged with an 1/8 ounce weight. Usually I fish a Zoom finesse worm or baby brush hog. Typically catch a few fish this way.

If going out of Flatwoods at night, be careful with your truck. Used to be notorious for stealing after dark. I usually put in at Grove when I fish that area of the lake.

    thanks for help guys. report:
fished from 9:30 to about 5. water temp was around 85...wow. caught 7. all short but for one 4 1/2 pound largemouth on baby brush hog and lost another about same size at boat on chigger craw. rest were on cranks. used a buzzbait first thing with no success. stayed up in and around the river end of lake.
nice day on the water overall and traffic on lake wasnt as bad as expected it to be given the free fishing weekend.
