6/5 trip on Dale Hollow w/Doubled up overs

Fished Saturday with a group from Georgia staying on a houseboat out of Dale Hollow Marina including a recently retired Gulf coast charter captain who was blown away by the sheer strength of a Dale Hollow over.Fred said had no idea that fresh water fish could pull so hard. http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...l/DSC00650.jpg Shortly after landing this we doubled up with these two,one over 22 and a 21(keep in mind as Eric pointed out,I'm 6 ft 7 210 lbs) http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...l/DSC00661.jpg later we were chased of the water by some ugly weather coming straight out of horse creek.http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...l/DSC00663.jpgThe final count for the day was 34 fish including 3 over Smallies, several slots, trout and 5 drum in which two were doubles.I know they are a trash fish, but man are they fun to catch......

In the early days of the U.S. in Massachusetts, contracts contained clauses in which the indentured servants would not have to eat lobster more than three times a week.

Catfish is considered a trash fish to some of the older people I know and they will not eat them. Drum can taste great, you just have to do it right.

thanks for the receipts, the one on the bottom right. the one with the instant potato flakes, is the way I fry my fish. only I use 2 eggs and a cup of milk in the batter, instead of water. they get so brown, and are so good, you can eat them without bread. especially the fresh spring walleye.

Thanks Boone Dog.That other stuff reminds me of a funny drum story. We were trollpng Dale about 10 years ago and had two drum in the cooler. An 8 and a 16 lber.We were stopped and checked by the TWRA officer and he asked us how we'd been making out.We said we had a couple in the cooler. He asked to see them,so we showed him.He laughed in our faces.Never been laughed at be the game warden, usually they are the serious type.He asked us what we were going to do with them.We said eat'em.He laughed again. We did,the small one was great but the big one wouldn't go down, kind of like shoe leather.....The cannel cats in Dale rival the walleyes for taste and they fight ten times harder.
