    Angry beating a dead pelican!!!

By now ther whole world, maybe the universe is aware of the oil spill. watched the GOVERNORS of two states asking where the government is? Turn around and look at YOUR foot steps. If you're beaches are being fouled, hire local help and clean them, then sue the offending party, thats what the courts are for. Instead they want federal help, screw you! I havn't been on the gulf for over four yearsm I dont use your beaches anymore, so why should I pay? The next day they are at a rally for smaller government.Take the responsibility, you asked for the job, then do it. Or quit!

It is my understanding that BP will be paying for the cleanup. The problem with the beach workers is that BP hired people to pick up the oil balls but they are standing around talking instead. Sunday they were sitting under tents on the beach. Do you want to take a guess why? BP HASN'T PAID THEM ONE DOLLAR FOR WORK ALREADY DONE. If Haley Barbour, governor of MS, or anyone else sues BP for reimbursement, it will be in litigation for decades.

Thumbs down Re: beating a dead pelican!!!

Like I said, let the state pay the workers and let the state get the money from BP. the state will lose tourism dollars, not BP.Again I'll say it, the state government is liable foer state beaches, the private home owners can file insurance claims, but the easiest way out is for everyone to look for washington for the money. If the states wont accept responibility, then cede the beaches to the federal government. If the private home owners wont do it, then live with it, or leave. Those people chose to live there, when they enjoyed the benefits, they wanted LESS government, now they can get. You can bet your butt, some of those federal elected officers are already being asked by BP to get them off the hook.

    Re: beating a dead pelican!!!

I must say how sad it is to see pictures of pelicans covered in oil and to imagine all the whales and fish dead on the Gulf floor. I hear the Federal Government gave BP a bill for $69million dollars to start covering the damages they caused with the oil spill. That was last Thursday and now BP seems to be moving their butts to stop the oil spill finally. I find it interesting that the bill seems to motivate them to find an answer. I dont think they cared one way or another about fixing it before that as now I am reading that they are stopping the leak.mmmmmm not a co-incidence I think.

I see your point and it is saturated with irony. If you are a Liberal thinking man and can say that about not using those beaches so why should you pay then that is ironic. Isn't that the mantra of the extreme left wing libs? Lets take care of everyone, trees, global warming and feel compassion for every soul and **** the cost? Examples come to mind Gubment Healthcare, Global warming, Mortgage fiasco, Cap and Trade and on and on....

I thought that the gubment should have stepped in a month ago and forced the BP guru's to task. I'm not talking about a 1000 person task force to determine why we need to help or how do we look good while doing it. I'm talking about Obamy or someone he feels can look good in front of the camera shoving this in their face everyday. Now he is pulling his demonizing tactics critizing their budgets on t.v. ad's. (gotta have the bad light on someone you know!) Talking about he doesn't want to hear about how they might short change a fisherman or business owner and spend millions on t.v. ads. I just have a problem with him trying to tell a private company how to spend money. Where was he on day 1,2,3,15, 25,30?? All that sounds good for t.v. but what does it accomplish? Uh, well now he looks like he is standing up for the americans effected by this disaster when all along he wasn't doing squat. Even his own parties pitbull went on national t.v. screaming for help. Mind you not a GOP member or Conservative but the big mouth who always has something to say about GOP politics...James Carville!

What responsibility can the states take? I ask because I don't know? Wasn't the drilling in federal waters? Does a state have the responsibility to clean up from something initiated out of their state boundries?? I'm asking? If it is the feds task then why did it take this long to make it seem so important?

Just curious how you felt about Mayor Nagin getting on t.v. crying for help on handling his "chocolate city" when he in fact made a mess of his own resources and neglected his duties. Most cities evacuated a full day prior than his beloved city (his bad call) and it caused chaos and possible deaths. We all paid for that didn't we? Of course since it was old George Bush who didn't show up to get the national guard going or fema or the state of emergency going it was ok to just blame that disaster on him. The same thing was going on then as now...where does the state begin and the feds take over?

Look at this quote from Newsweek Sept 15, 2005 about Bush and Katrina......
"How this could be—how the president of the United States could have even less "situational awareness," as they say in the military, than the average American about the worst natural disaster in a century—is one of the more perplexing and troubling chapters in a story that, despite moments of heroism and acts of great generosity, ranks as a national disgrace."

That same quote could be used for this administration just change natural disaster to oil spill and you got these guys in the same crosshairs. I say this because me and most anyone who watched the news knew this was a mess and kept asking who, what, when and where is the help?

    Re: beating a dead pelican!!!

Want my thoughts on new orleans, let lt sink! Its been bolstered by the government far to long, and it was because of the sea port and shipping of american grains over seas.See what the folks in oleens thought about choclate city?I know you're a free trade buff, but if the japanese hadn't bank rolled their car industry, we'd all be driving ramblers. Germany did the same thing. and china, right now considered the second largest economy is government controlled to some extent. India is only viable because our country ships our high tech jobs there,So we subsidize another government, while the corporations hide millions in off shore accounts so they wont need to pay taxes, and who gave them that power? As a liberal like you paint me, I'm against ALL lobbying by specialinterest groups, I'm for term limits, on all elected offices.Religion should NOT be taught in public schools, is that too liberal for you? wait, legalize marijuna, limit the number of children in welfare familys, I'm getting even more liberal, JAIL people who hire undocumented workers, mine the borders, pull our troops out of germany, japan, korea, iraq, and afganistan, and make perfectly clear which muslim citys we will destroy if any terrorist is linked to that state, and causes any harm to american citys.Turn the UN building into either a casino or a house of ill repute, and move that organization to russia or syria. Let a woman choose her options about abortion, let God judge trhe merits of the cases.Just a few liberal thoughts.

What is the territorial limits now, thought it was 200 miles, some governments think its far less than that. But anyway, if someone or something fouls my propert, firstI again I clean it up, its mine. I'm not that charmed by the current president, but he was much better than what ran against him, if the repsulicans cant find better candidates, well what does that tell you, that a bunch of kooks has taken over another party, kooks are right and left wingers. But maybe you need to have glen beck point that out to you.

    Re: beating a dead pelican!!!

Well it seems the same thing happened when Katrina hit...All the people of New Orleens wanted the Gubments help.......The Gubment stepped in and helped and all they got was a slap in the face....... All the Dem's. opened their mouths and whined and cryed that The Rep. President wasn;t doing enough.

So come on POTUS..step up and help all your pepols effected by this disaster....

That was why you elected this MR. CHANGE after all, so he could change the way the Gubment helps those who are too lazy to help themselves....

I will add there are kooks in the other parties as well.I know there are Conservative minded Dems and Liberal minded GOP folks. I'm not an advocate of the two party system and for the most part I think any potus that has more of a middle of the road thinking process does well.
Glen Beck is over the top because thats his thing. He makes you think but if your a Liberal he will make you "change" the channel. Prolly how Al Franken, Obamy, Pelosi, Reid, Dodd, Kennedy's, Holder or any of this administration makes me "change" the channel!

I think the GOP will produce alot better next election. Obamy showed them how to do it..

I ain't charmed by him at all...in fact even before I heard the first words spew forth from his mouth I already knew I wasn't going to like him. Read what I just wrote how every you want to, it is what it is.

As far as Nobama being better than what he ran against....how do you know? Since his oponents didn't get elected to show us what they could do we really don't have anything to make a comparison to do we?

I still find it hard to believe that the United States elected Nobama (a man with little experience) over McCain (a man who has served our country his entire life, was held as a POW, etc)....how can people turn a guy like that away? How can people turn a guy like McCain away from anyone else, ESPECIALLY Nobama?

Sorry if I got off course from the original subject matter of this thread...I just really and truly dislike having Nobama being POTUS.

I can tell you this your guy Obama and you know it's your guy, is useless and 56% of Americans think so and it's growing by the day. The incumbent Democrats are gonna drop like flies in November. You guys are gonna get your change alright, right out the door.
