I dont know if its just my year for bass so far or is something else at play here. Its june and i have already caught more bass this year than all of last year including 2 bass that where 4.9 and 5.8 and probably a total of 100 bass with most being over 15 inches. Then i see where kelly jordon caught a 10.01 out of ky lake--wow ! After 2 days van dam has almost 50 pds which put him on track for around 100 pds for the tourney. I know its a 4 day tourney but thats still impressive ! Just wondering if maybe all the rain last month has had something to do with this ? Anybody else noticing how well the bass fishing this year has been ?

Have you been fishing much this year ? If so where at ??
Most lakes in Ky had an excellent spawn year in 04 and 05. Those fish are the 4-5 pounders that seem to be in abundance at most of the lakes this year. I've caught bookoos in that year class at GRL this year and I caught a lot of them last year too when they were around 3.5 to 4 pounds. I hope the numbers are still here when those fish reach the 6-8 pound mark.
Spent a week on kentucky lake in march...have been to Barren multuiple times and taylorsville once... skunked at T-Ville, very few small bass but loads of drum at Ky... and at Barren, got skunked once and the rest of the time caught dinks and rock bass.. i havent hooked a keeper in a long time and getting very very sick of it... im gettin to the point where i dont even look forward to goin fishing...
I dont understand that michael. March is usually a good fishing time at kentucky lake. I would rather fish barren than nolin but i have a camp at nolin. T-ville skunk is no surprise but it can have its good fishing days too. I can understand the aggravation because i have been there. There has been times i have thought if selling all of my fishing equip. And taking up golf or some other type sport. But i got to thinking even if the fish arent biting or im not catching the quality of fish i want i enjoy being on the lake and in the outdoors. I also enjoy bass fishing at night from now through sept. Hang in there and keep a positive attitude. Its hard to do sometimes but your luck will change hopefully sooner than later.
Sent you a pm michael
Im pretty sure what happened at Kentucky Lake is the winter was so cold, the water was still in the 40's when we got there.. so my usual slow roll crankbait didnt produce anything but freakin drum and the jerk bait wasnt workin. So tried shakey head, and think i may not have been fishing deep enough.... i think the fish were a little behind the schedule i am used to...
next year we are going to do this trip the last week of march going into april...
