    ky afield

I was thinking about watching, the ky afield show tonight. and was thinking the fishing shows tim farmer does. most of them are weak, not all of them but most. he has some good videos with Randall Gibson. but what got me thinking, I was watching tim and some guy doing, a night time catfishing show. they were trying to catch cats on limb lines. the show was very weak. and I thought he could make a very interesting show, if he would hook up with chuck { river rat 12 } and doug { onemorecast56 } and do a show, on the ohio river. catching the big blue cats. like chuck and doug catch and post on here from time to time. I know I would like to see them drag a big 80 or 90 pound blue over the side of the boat. and I think most of the ky afield viewers would enjoy it also. if chuck and doug and farmer would be interested in making a good ohio river show on catching some big fish. I'd like to see it happen. maybe someone reading this knows how to get them together. they might even catch that triple digit while making the ky afield show. what do you guys think.

That would be cool to see him hooking up with some board members! But I disagree about the show being weak. I think Tim Farmer does a real good job, considering it's not some network production, it's KDFWR producing it, on a limited budget. He's an excellent ambassador for fishing and hunting in Kentucky, IMHO.

I'm with the OP on this.Way to much hunting featured on the show under Farmer's time.I've seen enough dead turkey's and arrow shot gar to last me a lifetime. How about featuring a different lake in Kentucky on every show, maybe use guys and girls that fish those specific waters to get their advice and tactic's?

I dont think there is anything wrong with the show at all. Some things that I dont think would interest me **** me in when I watch them on KY Afield like guys making old flintlocks or home made fishing lures or the turtle man HAHA. I did meet him at sportsmans he is CRAZY!!! I was looking for Spro frogs and he was trying to get me to buy rats. Very interesting guy!!

Have you ever seen how ugly Doug is? You seriously don't want to put him on TV. Chuck might be a different story thanks in large part ot his long flowing locks LOL!

Tim, I've never met either one of them. but have seen their pictures holding a big blue cat that looked like it weighed 100 lb. and they didn't look that bad. but a photo with a big blue cat like that, would make me look good. and I'm probably uglier than both those guys. but we all look just like the good lord wanted us to. anyway if chuck and doug were really handsome, they probably wouldn't be smart enough to catch all those big heavyweight blues.

You guy's are killin me...LOL Mark H. saw them shooting a segment down there last year I believe on hybrids in our neck of the woods. He talked to Tim F. for a little while and I believe brought up that idea....I think fishin.com would have alot to offer to KY afield with all the knowledge on this board. I'am alittle camera shy but would love to meet him. Chuck

    Re: ky afield

I personally have always enjoyed the show and i feel fortunate to have such a program that touches on topics that are interesting to me and close to home. I do agree that sometime content could be better but i believe they do the best with what they have to work with for sure and i am sure it will evolve into better production as the more funding becomes availabe. I think we all may be a little discouraged when we change the channel from a major networks outdoor program that is broadcast in high definition to watch the ky afield show, but like i said things will get better with time and funding. I really believe that we as a group here on fishin.com should come up with some funraising ideas and events so that we can try to make a little bit of a difference here in kentucky regarding things we care about i.e. " the kentucky afield show". If anyone has any ideas lets think about what we can do to make a difference.

P.s. I would love to have a question and answer section here on the site that would be monitored by someone with the state that could offer us information, regarding laws, or whatever it may be that we need. With the amount of people and input we have on here i believe it could only be a benefit for everyone involed to better our states fishing and wildlife resources.

Tim is a good guy and a inspiration to many that have lost limbs or bodily functions. He is genuinely nice and comes off very sincere. Chuck would be way better looking on Television then Doug, Oh Lord the horror.

    JK Douglas, lol.

    Re: ky afield

Do the show around October and make it a Halloween segment. Everyone can wear a mask!
I think someone should wear an Obama mask and the other a **** Cheney mask after the fishing segment go hunting...
    I'm just saying....
