Just caught a four foot hammerhead shark (on vacation in South Carolina). Probably thirty pounds - pulled my Kayak all over the flats. Got her (too mean to be a guy) to the yak on 10 lb Suffix braid. Best fight of my life. We need some of these in the Ohio River to spice things up.

I saw my first one last week while wade fishing port st. Joe bay for redfish and trout. I thought it was a catfish when I first saw it about 10 yards away, but it was definitely a hammerhead - it came within a couple feet of me. It was a small one - no more than 3 feet. It was awesome to see one of those.
That sounds like fun.
I caught this black tip in fort walton a week ago. It was mighty tasty.

Sounds like an AWESOME fight. One question though, are you sure it was a hammer, or was it maybe a bonnethead? Bonnetheads are more likely to come in shallow. It doesn't really matter, as they are in the same family, but I thought maybe you would want to check for sure.
