Barren River Lake info/help . I was trying to get a ledge fishing trip with Dave Stewart but the days he had open did not work with the days I could go.(Dave if you are reading this and you have one of these days in July open up let me know 19/20/26 or 27). So I am go to barren for a few days and I know nothing about this aera. What I would like to know if the Advantage Motel in Smith Grove is nice or not. I will have my wife and my ten year old girl with me. Or is there any other place on that side of the lake that would be better. I also read there are some beaches , what are the good ones for them to go to. I also would like to know what are the safest marinas to leave a bassboat over night. I am planing on fishing from 5:00am to 11:00am and then 7:00pm to 11:00pm so I would need to be able to get my boat after hours. My first place would be The Peninsula and then the one at the state park. Thank you for any help you can offer.

ok right now lake is up beaches are closed until further noticed peninsula is closed due to water no marina that i know of will let u leave ur boat unless u rent a slip fishing been good though hotels in glasgow and more food options also if u need more just write back

get a motel in cave city or glasgow. there is a nice place to stay on the road that goes toward red cross school. (dont know the name of it) in glasgow. you will be about 10 min from the lake. no beaches are open, due to high water. if it were me, i would let the wife and kids check out something in cave city like mammoth cave park, guntown mnt. etc. i would put in at the narrows and rent a slip there.

Barren is over 10 ft over summer pool. The peninsula is in rough shape. I would suggest going to Green or Nolin. They are in good shape and the beaches at Green are OK. There is plenty of lodging in Campbellsville.
