Well I cannot give you a fishing report other than what i have heard from others, but it seems the main lake points at Barren are producing, though not as good as a month ago. Seems deep cranks, c-rig, t-rig, tubes, and jigs are the ticket. I always put in at Beaver Creek ramp out of preference...

I just got done moving, and scoped out several ramps at barren.23 miles to walnut creek, about 15 to the state dock, and about the same to the narrows, BUT its too darn hot tofish!I've never fished barren at night, and wont go till I run the lake a few times. Also thinking of nolin, about an hour drive to the dam launch.C'mon school, start so the crowds thin out.

My favorite place to night fish Barren is up Peters Creek...just past the 31 bridge going north on the left is a clay point that holds em good at night...

Was on the river last night, and this past Sunday out of Cox's Park.....it's been rough, REAL rough. I would certainly pick Barren if I had the choice.

Thanks walker, maybe next week, am wondering how long it would take running 25 MPH to get from state dock to the narrows. On dale or cumberland used to run maybe 8 milesor 15 max,Barren isn't the size of dale or big C. Some good looking water and its not as deep as the other two lakes.

I would go to the river. Barren has gotten EXTREMELY tough! If you are good at catching suspending fish you might do ok at Barren. Alot of the fish have pulled out over 30-40 feet of water suspending in 15-18ft. Typical of July at Barren.
