    Cedar Creek

Been fishing Cedar Creek off and on all week and the Cedar Creek Gods have been good to me. I have been working in the back yard, and got to thinking about 5 Cedar Trees on the lake, so I had to hook on to the boat last Tuesday, and went to them 5 cedar trees, was there about 10 min and got a 21 inch fish out of one of them. Last Wed. me and a buddy who has not fished together for about a year, had a great time , we caught two 20 inch fish with a few 15 inch fish in the mix, but caught a lot of 12 to 15 inch fish also. So I last night I thought Cedar Creek, so hooked up again and off I went. I have never seen that lake with that many boats on it at night, this year I dont think. Boats everywhere. I seen a very small boat with no lights paddling/rowing up into a creek around midnight, he had to come across the main lake, right behind him was a kayak, I think he had a flash light. So I just shook my head and told them the lake is very crowded tonight. When I get to a brush pile I really wanted to fish real good, here come's a boat with 2very bright lights mounted on the front and someone with a very bright spot light coming at me. Felt like I was on a stage. I just layed my rod down started up and headed to the ramp. People where crappie fishing everywhere. I think I had one good fish one, but had a brain fart on tieing on a hook a guess, it just came off, missed 2 or 3 small fish, but did get one 13 inch fish in the boat. I guess tonight its Rice Lake or Buckcreek.

Fish being caught on Black and Blue jigs on Cedar Trees in the grass in about 8 to 10 foot of water. Bigger fish coming late or early in the morning. Still catching a few on a spinner bait after dark.

Billy, Guess it could have been worse, if that many could handle the heat and humidity imagine it being 10 or 15 degrees cooler. Still sounds as though you caught some nice fish and had a good time other than the Coast Guard Cutter bearing down on you.

I saw the same little boat - he was rowing across the lake out in front of the spillway - I just knew he was gonna get killed! And you were right there were a ton of boats on the water last night.... we had a small church group tournament (10 boats)... but there were many, many boats out there running around.... Best fish in our group was a 4.3 - several 1-2 pounders caught - and the patterns were all over the place.
