    Catfishin in the Kentucky River

Going fishing this weekend and will mostly be on the bank.
Wondering if anyone gots some advice on catching some cats in the kentucky river? I'm not looking for monsters just something fun to catch. Someone was telling me about diggin up some "green worms" off the bank. Anyone know about that??

I always did well below the lock and dams,I don't know the number, but the one at Lockport in Henry county close to Gratz in Owen county was my favorite. We always caught nice channel cats and an occasional flathead throwing live minnows into the eddy's below the lock, chicken liver, cut bluegill, and nightcrawlers work as well.
    Good Luck,

Fish below dams or in the mouths of creeks. Worms for channels and small bluegill for flatheads. Green worms are hard to find this time of year unless you can find "old manure" piles that have decayed for a couple of years. They can be found in certain areas on the river but again only in decayed rich areas where leaves have settle during flooded times. Catapla worms are on the catapla trees right now and they are killer bait for channel cats.

mouths of creeks, below locks, and areas where there is a slight current followed by a deep pool (you can find these at lower water levels)

I like to drift baits along, casting and then let drift then recasting

I like to also have a stationary pole or two while I am drifting with a different pole.

All catfish baits work well but my favorite is minnows mostly because you never know what you'll catch

    good luck
