    Red face Cumberland-alive fish

I am glad I haven't been fishin since August 29 because that kept me from seeing and smelling all those dead fish. That would have been pretty scary and depressing. Saw a few back on the 29th but they were scattered. Looks like things have changed for the better. There is O2 down to 35 feet down by the dam and across from low gap island (those are the only readings I saw) and the water temp down there is about 78 degrees. The readings on this date are very similar to last year on this date. For a while this year got worse than last with no O2 below 23 feet but for the most part this year has been the same or slightly better than last.

    See a recent report.

    Re: Cumberland-alive fish

was down there last sunday.we caught some small and i mean small bass out on the points on the main lake. hand grabbed a nice walleye. didnt see any new striper kills . most of the ones we did see had been there a while. then we waded hatchery creek ,caught 4 trout . went below the dam and cauhgt 5 small walleye and a bunch of small drum, and 3 more rainbows. all in all had a really good day there. hopefully the worst is over , and the stripers can get back to normal.

Nice report. I was considering fishing Norris this fall but if we keep seeing good reports might just have to reconsider. As for the Flitter 4, that lure is still a prototype. I know the guy that makes them and I'm sure if anyone needs them bad enough something could be worked out. My buddy and I caught some nice stripers on the Flitter 2 last fall. That lure is available. Ask for them at the shops around the lake. Peter, I got your number in my phone and will give you a call first chance I get. Thanks.
