Read this on BBC -- happened last week. Also, this is not the first incident on that lake, or others on the border for that matter.

The mexican pirates suspected to be gangs of drug runners killed a man in front of his wife on lake falcon.
The coast guard or somebody needs to blow those idiots off the water. Its a shame people cant enjoy a day on the lake without getting shot.
They are telling people to stay on the US side but the shooting happened in US waters. I personally wont be visiting Lake Falcon anytime soon and I would bet no major tournaments will either. If I wanted to get shot at I would go to the Delta.

Heard the same thing they say it's safe as long as you stay on the US side! cross the line and your taking your life in your own hands
The way this was reported yesterday on the NBC national news the couple crossed into Mexican waters to photograph a church on the Mexican peninsula and were shot at while trying to get back to the American side.
To be honest, anyone going anywhere near Mexican borders (land or water) need to be aware and be smart. Is a picture of a church really worth crossing the border for? Everyone knows the volatile situation in that country.

Not sure how that applies to "KY Fishing". What am I missing?
MX, US border has always been a haven for ........
There is nothing US officials can do unless they cross the border. This man was shot in mexican waters from what i read. Why is it this is only happening on Falcon? Amistad seems to be immune...
The world is a dangerous place for sure. I feel the same way about Mexico as you stated......why even put yourself in a situation that could be harmful or deadly. The way this was reported yesterday on the NBC national news the couple crossed into Mexican waters to photograph a church on the Mexican peninsula and were shot at while trying to get back to the American side.

I always carry a little .22 on my boat.
Down there I'd take a hand cannon or long range rifle.
Been seeing stories about that lake all summer.
Guy should have known, should have been armed to the teeth, an prepared for battle.
^this all assuming that he crossed the border. If on our side of the border than **** the govt!

If I had a gun I would blow those no good pirates out of the water. I have never seen the attraction of going to Mexico. Lots of Canadians go down there for vacations but not me. I have no desire to go there and now I am glad with all the talk of drug gangs and now pirates. Not a nice place. I think I would move if I lived near the mexican border.
there was a very emotional interview with this family this morning on Good Morning America. you can watch via their website.
If they can cross the line and come in to the US then shouldnt we be able to do the same ? get a big boat , some assault weapons and start invading them and showing them some of the same treatment. the bad thing is the wife of this man actually remembers the boat and the fact that it "GAME WARDEN" painted on the side of it. WOW, takes some nerve to actually do what these idiots are doing.
