    Tyme's trip to the river:report

It didn't take much to change Knute's mind from Patoka to the river when I told him I heard some whites were hitting at surface baits.Knute is the nickname of my fishing partner and the heathen is not a member of this board.

I hooked up the muffs to the motor to ensure the motor would start before I got to the river. Dang, took forever to start and I almost cancelled the trip. Get her fired up a let her run a few minutes so off I go.

Launched at 1350 hours and proceded up to the bearclaws and hydros. The water release from the gates looked good and we started at the bearclaws. No luck.Moved off the hydros to the "holes" out in front and still no luck.Moved over to the hydros and at about 1800 hours we started to get some action. I was in the process of reeling in a 4lb cat when Knute hooked on to a hybrid. When those fish get in that current, one would think a giant was on the end of the line. Knute's hybrid was as round as a football, looked to be about 5lb. Just before dark (as onemorcast56 had told me) the hybrids were coming to the surface. We each caught several and then they turned off like a lightswitch.

The moon was up and I had my nav and anchor lights on and the fish just stopped any more surface action.

It had been a while since I backed up the trailer in the dark, but I did a pretty fair job of it and we recovered the boat and I came on home.

Mrs.Tyme gets worried when I get home from fishing after dark, so she was a little bit concerned. She's not a worry wart, she just loves me.

I park the boat in the barn, and come in to a wonderful dinner awaiting me.Salisbury steak, mashed potatos, gravy, cornbread, and green beans. Mmmmm good and I was famished. I'll let it sit for a few more minutes and then have a small ice cream cone of Butter pecan.

Have you taken Mrs Tyme fishing since she out fished you? Loved your report sounded like a great time and a great finish with the home cooked meal. Did you invite the heathen to eat with you?

Mark, I heard Mrs. Tyme will achive Saint Hood before long. Even Mother Theresa didn't perform as much charity work as Mrs. Tyme has done for her husband!
