Here is the deal on Sauger

I went to newburgh dam this morning and i caught my first sauger of the year. Right after i do so the man fishing next to me caught one as well, and then the next. Then i lost two more. So they are starting to pack in the back eddy, they were caught on white and charteruse twisters with a lead head. 2 more weeks and they should be turned on for the pickens. Please let me know how your sauger trips go.

ya man im getting a 14 foot 5 1/2 feet wide lowe river john i have a trolling moter and a 25 hp honda motor and it has a live well. i cant wait i will be going to Uniontown dam alot after i get it the sauger stack up there and i tore em up last year from a boat so really looking foward to it. so ya man if u would like we will meet up at newburgh then go from there

My buddy Don got a 3lb sow on a striper bait at Mc Alpine lower ,a few more cool nights and they will be on ....water temp in louisivlle is still 65 when it gets below 60 we will be doing good on them....I wanna a bag of sauger fillets ...in my opinion the best eating fish in the world !!! 2nd best is Snook LOL....I miss living in Fla and catching snook off the Clearwater pier
