I decided to take advantage of the great fall weather we're having and head over to Trammel to see if I could find some Trout. I haven't been over this year and the creek had totally changed. Holes that had held fish in the past have washed out and I had to find some new ones. Every time I go over there it's like fishing a new creek. Water was very low and super clear. The first fish was small, but aggressive and ate a Black Woolly Bugger.

I switched over to Ultra Light tackle and got a nicer one on a Black Rooster Tail. You can see how clear the water was from this pic.

Love Trammel Creek! I have fished there for ten years now, and think it is the closest thing around these parts to a western trout stream....with all the gravel bars and riffles...love it. You are right though, anytime the river goes up, all the gravel bars shift, making new runs and holes. I love it. It's like fishing a whole new stream! I caught a 27" brown trout out of there three Oct.'s ago....she was a beaut! Figured they stocked her to see if she could reproduce or something....she was busting with eggs when I held her....I'll never forget that day....going from 12" stocker bows, to landing a TOTALLY unexpected monster brown! It was sweet! If it wasn't for TC, I would go into serious FFin withdrawls! I just wish they would continue some stockings through the winter months, oh well.
Way to go!
