Got to the creek this morning at 0645 and it was COLD!!! Had to keep dipping the rod in the water to cast and the button froze up on one of my reels. Idled up to the split first thing and had one hammer a tube third cast. Second cast with a crank I nailed a short. I thought to myself....this is going to be a great day. It was SLOW!!! I ran back into Strodes and fished the long rock wall past the flat with no luck. FNF fishermen, the water was very clear in Strodes. Ran back out to the main creek and fished the rock wall halfway back to the ramp and caught two shorts and missed three keepers at the boat. One off a tube that swam under my boat before my brain clicked I had a fish on, one off the second cast with a Strike King red eye shad shad color, one off a brown with orange belly Bandit 300 crank. All thre were quality fish. All fish caugh were off the Bandit fished slow to med speed. Ran back to the last big rock wall with the big house on the hill and seen a 6pt buck cruising the flied right in front of me but had zero hits. Packed her up around 1245 and called it a day. Only 1 other boat on the creek and it was slow for them also. Did not get a temp reading but main creek water clarity was pretty good. I would go to the big lakes the creek is slow and still low from the lack of rain.
