Hey guys,
Went down to Cumberland this past sunday (11-14-10), put in at Conley Bottom and fished White Oak Creek and another small creek near Conley Bottom. Only caught three fish all day. One smallmouth, one Spot, and one L/M. Fished from 7:30-2:30, but all three fish came before 9am. From 9-2:30 we blanked. All three fish we caught were small (8-12 inches), two came on a spinner bait, and one on a crankbait. Needless to say it was a horrible day for me catching fish on the Big C. There was also a tourney out of conley the same day (we didnt fish it, we got there an they were taking off, didnt know about it until we got there). But we did pass two seperate boats trolling the banks in white oak, the guys in both boats said they were fishing the touney and both boats said they werent doing any good either. This is the third weekend in a month my buddy an i have went to cumberland bass fishing, and the last three times we havent done very good at all. This spring and summer we did pretty good though on cumberland. This weekend we didnt get very many bites all day. Hardly any bites at all on a jig orr shakey head. I was just wondering what is up with the bass on cumberland, the last couple times we have been they have been almost non-existant! Makes for a long day, especiallyy forr us because we live around lexington so itts about an hour and a hal drive to cumberland for us. I love cumberland, its my favorite lake to fish but man these last few times have been really disheartening. Im thinking about putting tthe boat up until spring. Just wondering if anyone else was having any luck bassin on cumberland and could help any? Wondering i its just me or if the bite has turned of for everyone?
