We caught the heck out of the Ky's and Smallies on spook and sammy type baits before the cold snap this past week. Didn't consider going sub surface it they were hitting on top.

Just got home from C-land. Only managed a couple of dinks on jerkbaits. We caught largemouth, smallmouth, spots, stripers and whites on flat sided cranks - nothing to write home about. Picked up 3 keeper largemouth on jigs. I had one follow my jerkbait back to the boat that I figured was over six. While I was standing there with my jaw on the deck and my eyes bugging out, it came back out from under the boat and took a swipe at my Rogue but missed. We seen plenty schools of baitfish, mostly in the backs of creeks and pockets. Most of them were right on the bottom.
