Carret stick rods

Does anybody know anything about these rods,thinking of buying a new drop-shot rod and could use some help if possible.

I have heard the samething. I don't own one but I have heard they are not set up properly and they break. I have never fished with one.

I have a couple and really like them. I have broken one, but that was when they had the over the counter lifetime warranty. I personally won't buy one again, simply for the fact that I bought it with a lifetime warranty that was supposed to be over the counter exchange, and they are no longer offering that.

But for the price I have seen them lately - I think they are worth that. They are light and extremely sensitive. The ones I have now, I use quite a bit. If you do decide to get one, do yourself a favor and pay the extra money for the gold series.

The quality isn't there any more, that's why Boyd Ducket told them if they were going to change the rod he didn't want his name on it. Ive heard they used to make a good rod, then outsourced it probably to china and now there junk? However I've never fished with one tho...

If its a drop shot rod your looking for then I have one for sale. It is a Castaway 6'9" XP3 casting rod. I think it is medium with fast or xtra fast tip. If your interested, I can email pics to you. I have only used it about three or four time. Nice rod, just have too many already.

I won't ever pay that much for a rod when I can use berkley or even a shakespear and catch just as many fish. You're throwing your money away if you ask me. All hype and a brand name will cost you big bucks now a days.

All Star rods are under $100 and are great rods for the money!!

I agree with rudypoo444 100%! I think most fisherman nowadays worry more about spending money and lookin good than they do catchin' fish.

Yea, they are broom sticks!! They will bust like a light bulb.

i just bought two drop shot carrot stix for 69 bucks a piece on sale. will use them fishin for smallies this winter and let you know if they stink. figured they were cheap enough in the sale to give them a try. if they break they replace them for 50 bucks according to what i read in the warranty. that is kind of lame for a warranty. if i catch a 8 pound small mouth then they are worth a million i guess.

take it for what its worth, but you cannot go wrong with kistler rods. I have not had any problems out of the 3 carrot sticks i have but they were the first generation even before they made the gold series. Now, when fish are finicky and you want to feel those suttle bites there is a HUGE diffrence. In this situation i would only trust a kistler or loomis. Please look at the kistler magnesium series before buying a carrot stick, (close in price). And for those who think a walmart rod is just as good as a high end rod, well please look at data statistics. Not only will high end rods be lighter, but you will be able to detect suttle soft bites alot better especially in windy conditions. One of my friends had the same outlook about rods until i let him use one of my kistler rods for about a week or so. Now he has 5 or 6 LTX's.
