I saw two bucks last weekend that had already lost one side. Trail camera pics showed them on around the first of the year but they were gone by the 8th.

Well boys about another three weeks and I'm going get out there after them. I got a feeling they are going be dropping early this year due to this stressful winter. Those ole bigguns fall off first alot ot times to, so get out there and find some fellas. It's great exercise and a heck of alot of fun.

MHall - we're in the same neck of the woods. I hunt in Goshen and have already seen a couple bucks dropping them.....
Good stuff guys, that settles it, I'm going for a long walk this afternoon. Good luck to you fellas, find some bigguns this year.
Found my first one on my first trip yesterday afternoon. Straight out of the truck I find a weird three point side with a bizarre turn in it. Walked another three miles or so and never found anything else, but that's shed hunting I guess.
What do you do with them after you find them? Or is it more of an excuse just to get out of the house and into the woods?
Kinda like striper fishing- some days it's ON and then most of the time it's NOT!!!!!!
Yes it is great exercise and is a very good scouting tool for next season as well. I also collect them and could sell them if I wanted to. They have value especially the larger ones.
This shed hunting might not be to bad...I just read a small article in Outdoor Life referencing this very topic, only difference is the author was writing about using his dog to hyunt for the sheds.
Mhall....I may have to hook up with you sometime and buy one of these sheds from you...I have a bird dog that is completely head over hills bonkers about hunting, tracking, you name it. Her main interests are squirrels, rabbits and of course birds. This might be something her and I could get into.
Tim I'll give you a few sheds if you want them I have a boat load. Dogs trained early as pups to be shed hunters are awesome, they can flat out find some sheds. If it EVER quits snowing I'll get back out there, they are almost impossible to find in the snow.
Found another decent 4 point side yesterday afternoon. Squirrells had already been chewing pretty good on it.
