20 gal tank on boat, thus $100 per fill up. Thinking there will be less running all over the lake searching for the hot spots and more concentration on locating fish in selected areas closer to launch sites.![]()

just curious how these rising gas prices will affect everyones day to day lifestyle and what are you guys/gals plan on cutting back on or cutting out completely to cope with a possible $5 a gallon or more.
me personally i think there will definatley be fewer but longer fishing trips, no more driving to the lake for just a few hours of fishing. instead of buying lunch a few times a week i will be packing my lunch daily and there will probably be no more expensive nights out with the wife and freinds. im not wanting to cut myself out completely but considering the fact i drive a 75 mile round trip daily to work i have to try and save a little bit somewhere

KAYAK baby!!!Myself and others on here have taken a few trips last year and it was cheap compared to towing a boat trailer around. Fishing was good and it's a nice change from other types of fishing.
I scaled down to a nice wide Jon Boat and small motor a few years ago as well. My fishing will stay the same but my ATV trips will be closer or at least fewer long trips to Tenn.
Owned Motorcycles most of my life and I never thought I wopuld see the day when it takes almost $20 to fill the tank! I remember in the 70's and 80's when I could scrounge up a dollar or two and be cool for days of riding.
I will be fishing Cumberland alot less this year and that makes me very very very very angry, I hate OIL COMPANIES! And please SPARE ME THE BS THAT THEY AREN'T GOUGING THE SH!T OUT OF US RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO HEAR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would say that I would cut back somewhere else to keep fishing just as much as I want to - especially since I now finally have a boat - but I have the double whammy of finding myself now unemployed as well.
The worst thing about it is that I've not had to go to work all week....and the lakes are all trashed!
I'll likely find a way to keep fishing at least some.
Like Don said, I do have the kayaks and the Dix river is less than 10 mins from my house. I'll likely make a few trips up there. Hopefully, we can do some trips together again.
My Triton has a 50+ gal and I'm going to trailer to a good area and fish it. My days of flying down the lake WOT are done unless there is some kind of emergency.
Michael, sorry about the job loss man...I would say that I would cut back somewhere else to keep fishing just as much as I want to - especially since I now finally have a boat - but I have the double whammy of finding myself now unemployed as well.

Know1...not sure where you live or the type of work you are looking for but I'm getting ready to hire a welder/fabricator for a job east of Lexington.
Too bad I know nothing about welding or fabricating. Thanks for mentioning it. I do appreciate it.
Don - just give me a holler if you're going sometime. I definitely have the time![]()
