ky lake 3//12/11 ????
Hey some of the folks that get fish this lake on on a regular basis, just wander what the water clarity is? Both in the creeks and main channel. How will the rain this weekend affect the clarity once again? Seems one system after another is dumping an inch or more each time. I noticed they are pulling water like crazy but i suppose that will slow as flooding reaches moderate flood stage down river. Thanks in advance!!!

Re: ky lake 3//12/11 ????
Flood warnings were issued for the Ohio this morning with moderatie flooding possible all the down to Cairo. They are still pulling the water big time. Lake is 3.6 ft over winter pool today with forecast of 4.5 by midnight Wednesday. Another inch of rain forecasted for tomorrow and tomorrow night. More rain with storms on Wednesday. The LBL side creeks are clearing for the most part with some still stained in the backs. West side creeks: some clearing up pretty good, some heavily stained still.
As far as what the rain will do to clarity...I have never seen rain help clarity...whether or not it hurts what we have now of course will depend on how much we get and how fast we get it. Main lake is fine for clarity...a little stained but definitely fishiable....at least north of the 68 bridge.
Now, you need to watch the lake levels etc.....forecast is changing with all the unknowns at this time...be careful...I was dodging logs on the main lake and in the bays today. Not a lot of them...but they are there.

Thanks Dave for the info. Great feedback. Hope your catching them. Was fortunate to get to go out with you a couple years ago. Enjoyed the time and learned a lot. Plan on being there this weekend fishing North end of Ky. Maybe see ya on the water!!!

Re: ky lake 3//12/11 ????
Glad you enjoyed the trip with me. If the weather forecast does not change, it should be a nice weekend to be on the water. The water is still rising with the flooding going on so watch out for debris out there, be safe and enjoy the trip.
