i used old ratchet strap material to make mine, depending on what yours even look like. an most Tmotors have that made into it on the newer ones. but if you troll enough, you just kinda know which way youre going by instinct.

Have a couple questions for you guys. I have looked on BPS website but cant find anything for either.
1) Do they sell a lighting system for the top of the trolling motor so you can see which way the arrow is pointing when night fishing?
2) Where can I find some new pull straps so I can access the compartments on my boat? Mine have dry rotted and broke when pulling so I have to use a flat head screw driver to pry them open.

Worst case on the T motor, take some glow in the dark tape and put an arrow on the top of the direction indicator. It's cheap and it will let you know which way you are going if you have to have it, although you will most likely have to hit it with a flashlight to "recharge" the tape after midnight or so.
I use one of those little replaceable stick lights that go with a bober for night fishing. The tip lights up red or green and I tape it to the top of Tmotor at the point of the arrow. Cheap and works good.
I had the same thing going on with my compartment pulls and mentioned it to the boat dept guys at BPS and how I was going to build a flat deck extension in the walk through of my fish and ski and he gave me the flat nylon straps and some carpet. Real nice guys up there. Straps work perfect and the new extension totally cut out the wind this winter from rushing in under the windshield.
Did you check the light bulb under the tm cover? It is easy to replace.
not sure about your trolling motor, but on my motor guide, press the peadal on your toes and your going to the right, press the pedal on your heel and your going to the left....the farther you press = the farther you turn .
p.s. always let your partner know when you are going to make a hard turn, they cant see the direction of the trolling motor.....you have to go back to the dock if they get wet (hee-heee i still think its funny)
