Information on Trailwood Lake and Lake Shelby

    Good Morning,

I hoping I can get some information on a few lakes in Shelby County.

Trailwood Lake: Is this a lake that can be fished by the general public? How is the fishing here? Any fees that I should know about?

Lake Shelby: I know this is a park in Shelbyville. Is this a good fishing spot or another dead sea type of lake?

I've got a new 10 foot pond prowler and looking for smaller lakes that I can take it on.

I am thinking that to fish Trailwood you either have to own property there or know someone that does and they give you permission.

I agree you have to own property around Trailwood to be able to fish there. Lake Shelby is a good little spot and you will catch some quality fish there. I would not waste much time fishing around the boat ramp but just start to head towards the back where it turns back into Clear creek and you should do ok this time of year.
