I fished that lake for a couple hours once about 6 years ago. I didn't catch anything but could see that the potential was there. That is where the Kentucky state record LM came from, right? Like over 13 pounds...

I had fished wood Creek for the first time And I must say if you haven't been there Go! It's a small lake but has big fish! No skiers no jet ski's allowed. which is great! We caught 2 4lb large mouth and a 5lb small mouth in 30 minutes. And a dozen 1lb lm the rest of the day. the big fish of the tourney was 6.5lbs . It's great for ledge fishing and there is lots of stickups and laydowns. If you stay the weekend there is a great little cottage set up next to the ramp. It's not that far off 75 maybe 10 minutes. I plan on going back soon to see if I can tie into a big hawg.

Don't get too excited. The lake fishes tough the other 95% of the year.
The record came from there when the lake was young and still fertile.
I would love to know where to find a ramp! I've wanted to fish it and have not had the chance. Coming from Berea which exit should I take??TIA
Hey Procraft. You have to take exit 41. Turn left off the exit and go west toward Somerset. You will go a good 3 or 4 miles probably and you will see Otts Grocery on the right on a bank. Turn right there and go straight. The road splits veer to the right and follow it to the end. Inbox me if you dont understand this.

if you fish woodscreek, do so through the week. they aren't as many boats , the weekends are a mess with boat traffic. and it's fished to death on weekends. and it's full of trout if anyone likes trout fishing.![]()
