I've fished Cypress Bay for years. From 1958 until 1983 or there about.

That bay is normally clear as the creek that runs into it's back bay is not usually that muddy. I guess it runs though a lot of woods and not much tilled farmland. And the back of the bay is blocked by a road that runs across the bay. This stops a lot of the water from flowing out too fast and let the silt settle in the very back of the bay where it's really shallow and at times full of buck brush and other vegetation. I've seen some big slab crappie pulled out of there by the guy that lives right there on the back part of Cypress Bay. I watched him catch several nice slab white crappie in the 1 to 2 lb range. I checked the area after he went back across the bay to his boat dock and back up to his cabin on the lake. The water where he was fishing was not more then 3 ft deep near the bank where he caught the fish. I'm sure that he had a small brush pile planted in there that I didn't see. It's hard to find a small brush pile using 2D sonar in only 3 ft of water. A guy could wear chest waders and wade fish this area and do very well. Just would have to watch out for the snakes.

I've caught a lot of fish out of Cyrpess Bay. Bass, Crappie, Stripers, catfish, bluegills and a few drum now and then. I wish that Kentucy Hydrographic would map this bay some day and that Humminbird would make their unit's compatable with Pat's KY Graphic's maps. I'd a digtial map or sidescan mosiac in a heart beat. Even though I dont' go fishing that area anymore as my fishing partner is deceased. I had a lot of good times down there on that bay for many years. I learned to drive a bass boat on that bay.
