Green River

Hello everyone, my dad a I are planning a trip this weekend. We have property on the river but i have never in my 16 years been. I went to bass pro and picked up some semi heavy tackle in hope to bring in some big cats.

But, i got a few questions for those who have been this year.

1. How is fishing green river this year in all?
2. 7ft catfish rod, Baitcast reel w/ clicker and 25lb line. Good enough?
3. How are the cats their this year?
4. I usually set the hook as soon as i get a hit. But i was wondering, with the clicker, should i wait till the fish stops running with it, then set the hook? Or continue how i do?
