Wondering what the high water had done to the bite and the veggies, went south.American lotus survived and was about 1 ft below the surface at Birdsong creek. At 362 and falling a ft a day now visable I presume.
The creek has cool water inflow so expected a tad cooler ,whoa warmest we found was 62 f,was that warm a month ago. Also a month ago were hitting top water like a charm, nonexistant wed,but may change.
Tailor made however with a space inbetween for shallow cranks and or spinnerbaits,no didnt hammer them.My friend Steve Huber got two good keepers one about 3-3 1/2 lbs myself a lowly squeeker at 15 exactly.
Most fish not all came off or near the bank with steep sides, few came out of the flooded buckbrush and or pads in the center,a lot of that due to falling water I presume.
Cold water and no jerkbait bite on points?Just shallow cranks and 1/2 ounce spinnerbaits, senkos to some degree. All together about 15 fish in 4 hrs, kind of slow. With about 12 being a tad short at 14 in.
Oh well was a great day to get out tad cool(air temp 50s) but still fishing.
Yes 50s and west Tennessee where its over 80 by now,air temp and water temp normally mid seventies.
