Curious if the fish are not coming up or if people are just not going out due to the debris in the water?

Heading down for the weekend. Going to be around Jamestown Dock. I have read some of the older posts but am looking for some current information. Has anyone been out at night this last week? Are the fish coming up and are you having any success? Thanks. BG

We were there last weekend and it was hard to find Shad. They would only surface for about 10 - 15 minutes then go back down. We ended up just fishing points. We fished Wolf Creek, mid creek to the main lake. There was A LOT of debris and we had a cold front come through on us. I hope you have better fishing than we did.
Fished the lower end(put in at Halcomb's). Water looked good, temps 64-67. Found one little pocket of shad about 1 am. Fished that pocket for an hour, heard a few walleye blow-ups. We caught one 22 inch striper on a jig. Never heard the first striper blow-up all night. Talked to several boats and nobody had a keeper striper.
We fished Wolf Creek area. We did not hear any alewives until 1 am. They were very sporatic and were favoring the shady side of the bank. We heard a few fish chasinng but no blow ups. As it got later we did hear more alewives. Eventually moved closer to the Jamestown area and found similar conditions. There we did hear 1 blow up and had 4 hits around 4 am but did not land. We were using a red fin and a jointed red fin. Try again tonight.
Just to give you a report on how we did Sat 5.21. We headed out of Jamestown at 10. Heard activity with ale wives and some fish splashing immediately at the cut through and the deep side of the island. Had a couple hits but did not catch anything. Fished a small creek accross from the island from 12-2 but there was little activity. Went back to the cut through area which had died down but caught 1 walleye. Fished the mouth of the creek at Jamestown and the coves at the mouth from 3-5:30. Lots of activity. Ale wives were up and we heard about 10 blow ups. Caught 4 short stripes and 3 little small mouth. Missed as many as we caught and 1 nice stripe got off at the boat. Those couple of hours were a lot of fun but the fish seemed to all be small. We do this trip annually and have never had so many small ones as we have had in the last 2 years. Maybe it is just the weekend we picked? Try again next year. Both nights the activity seemed to really pick up from 3-6. We used red fins and jointed red fins with the most success.
