There is a VERY slim chance that I may be able to take the wife and son to Bradenton Florida for a few days in July. We have some friends that moved to the area there so accommodations are taken care of and if I can keep mowing the yards that I have been may scrape together enough for air fare. Does anyone have any suggestions for us to do for some reasonable by fun entertainment for my wife, my 7 year old son and I? My boy has no fear and the more adrenaline the better for him. We will certainly spend time at the beach but looking for suggestions from anyone that may have been to the area. Thanks

I used to live there several years ago. Down the road is Sarasota and they have some kind of circus musem and then at Tampa there is Busch gardens, there are several public fishing piers in the area, also good charters, some good fishin there, and some good resturants, If Ancors inn is still there ck it out great food.. Have fun enjoy.
You could also go smack D ick Vitale if the urge strikes. He lives in Brandenton, from what I hear chaeck the local tennis court and you can find him.
I stayed in Parrish,Florida for over a year in 89' while building a prison at Myakkah City. Parrish is just outside of Bradenton. The beaches are great and plenty of them down the barrier islands, good saltwater fishing off the bridge over Tampa Bay,good fishing in the Manatee River and Myakkah river near the state park, and nice bass in the lake near Parrish,I can't remember the name this minute.
Like was said previously,Busch Gardens is nice,Orlando is not that far to drive,I used to fly into Orlando and drive a rental all over Florida on vacation.Plenty of things to do in Orlando, most of the Kissimmee chain of lakes has great fishing and boating. Some great seafood can be found around the coast,if you don't mind driving you can cross country to Okeechobe or south to the Everglades.Usually it's more of a vacation if you relax and do as little as possible instead of my have to see everything, exhausted vacations.![]()
Heck Kissimmee has plenty of adrenaline stuff like bungeee jumping. Airboat rides and of course gatorland off of hwy-441.
I heard that the jellyfish are on the beach, in the shallow water, and are stinging everything that moves. I've had a couple of stings and can tell you that it hurts really bad. Caution your son to watch out for them; they are hard to see in waist deep water. I hope you enjoy your vacation.
I've been stung with them myself, thought one was a plastic bag on the beach once, white vinegar is what we used I think,to nuetralize the sting.I heard that the jellyfish are on the beach, in the shallow water, and are stinging everything that moves. Human urine also helps on jellyfish stings. I like everyone on this board so much that if any of you were stung by a jellyfish I would totally pee on you!![]()
I know you would on me for sure, seriously though the pee thing doesn't work like everyone thinks, white vinegar is the trick,I promise.![]()
Can you drink enough whiskey for your pee to become about 91% alcohol? We would have to roll you over just to get a squirt.
This must be TRUE because I saw it on an episode of Friends. Monica got stung by a jellyfish and Chandler tried to pee on it but got stagefright. So Joey stepped up and did the deed. My wife loves that show and has seen EVERY episode about 10 times during the 10,000 year run. $750,000 per episode each were making and that was not enough. I guess I could pretty much pee on myself especially if I had to throw it over my shoulder to get my back if needed.
