Herrington, Willisburg and Cedar Creek are not far. Then there is always Elkhorn Creek and the KY River.

I can try to help you out I live in Lexington area and used to fish tournaments in the area with the pond hoppers and several other small groups in the area. First thing I guess I need to know is if you are fishing in a boat or just off the bank. Are you looking for largemouth or smallmouth because there is good fishing for both in the area. You can email me and I will give you a phone number to call me even if you would like. My email is [email protected] Like I say I live in Lexington and would be glad to get you info for several of the places. There is also a guy up here for a small fee who sells maps to the small lakes of kentucky. I will try to pull my map books out and get his info cause that bunch of maps is well worth what he charges. I would suggest if you got a boat and are going to be in the area to try the smaller lakes. My favorite which is a little drive out of Lexington to shelbyville area would be guist creek. Just big enough that you get good size fish but small enough for even John boat with small outboards. I have several fish over five pounds out of there
