I fish for cats alot, but i dont have a boat. One of my buddies caught a pretty nice one out of there. I never been, but as much as i catfish, i would say bring a few different baits. Maybe some cut bait, livers, etc. Goodluck.

OK.... so I don't usually fish for cats but would like to start. I will be looking to do this on Rough River Lake mostly.... Looking for help in types of places to fish for these fine tasting critters. I will be fishing from a boat....
My current idea is basically a carolina rig but with what bait? Where as in rip-rap, points, channel banks, main lake and a million other possibilities. So some help please with baits, types of places to try and is it best on the bottom and that can have a float near the hook to keep it just off the bottom...or should I be using a bobber or both?
Thanks for any suggestions....

Back when I was a kid and boatless I would go to the bottom of the golf course by the dam at night. Always caught catfish down there on nightcrawlers. There is a catfish hole in the river right beow the dam too if you wanted to try that.
