Fished Otter Creek Friday, July 1,From noon till 3:00 pm.
Caught 7 trout, 7 smallies, 1 drum, 1sunfish.
Used nightcrawlers on a tiny egg hook & a split shot 18 inches up the
line. Trout were 9 to 13inches, smallmouth 9 to 11 inches.
Water was very clear and not too fast.I was lucky enough to have the day off on a weekday, so I avoided the big crowds of swimmers & inner tubers.
Fished a hole at Garnett Picnic Area.$3.00 admission, well worth it.

Just went to otter creek, on Ft knox, today, from about 10-3. Caught 8 smallies the same size as yours, 2 largemouth bass, and 5 trout. Caught them all on 1/8 ounce brown and gold rooster tail, 1/4 ounce white and silver rooster tail, and a crawdad colored crankbait. I caught most of them in the bend/pool just down creek from Camp Carlson. Water was still clear, and the sections I was in were pretty swift. Water temp was a little cooler then I thought it was going to be. Good thing about the Knox side of otter creek, is there isn't any crowds at all.
