Lake Reba Tomorrow

Any tips for the lake? I know it's going to be hot and we'll only be throwing from the bankside but it would be nice to hook into something that may not fit in the frying pan.

I have fished it this time of year from the bank and caught some decent bass (12") around the ramp. I was using soft plastics and the grass was thick so i just fished holes in the grass and tossed out where I could get my plastic to the bottom.
If the grass is topped out I would use Zoom Horny Toads but I haven't see it this year. Good Luck!

Also that cove right there by the ramp produced a few for others as well using plastics.

Appreciate it, Don. I'll try your tactics and report back. Both myself and my partner for tomorrow have been fishing for less than a year. I've fished Reba once before with my kids and Rich has never been so any help comes in handy.

they seem to like brush hogs pumpkin seed in color. throw it as far as you can and easy it back. there are some decent ones in there but good luck catching them.

Stop in at the Cain Pole. If anything is biting they will know and they also have live bait. It is located in the strip mall to your right as your pulling into Lake Reba,

Note: This advice is eight years old...

I used to fish @ Reba back when we lived in Berea...I would walk around to the cove were it meets up with a golf course pond. You used to be able to stay on the Reba side and fish that pond...there used to be some big ones in there! We would throw poppers around dusk and catch some pigs! Not sure if you can still do that or not...just an option.

Well, I started out with a pumpkin Woolly Bug and Rich went with a black lizard as we fished along the edge and over the grass in the cove to the right of the ramp. Nothing over the first hour so Rich wanted to move to the end of the pier and fish both float and cranks. We caught a few bluegill but only one largemouth - a dink caught on a minnow crankbait.

However, a kid around 17 or so was fishing just down the bank from us and pulled in a nice 16" largemouth using an 8" purple worm.

Weather stayed decent for us with some good cloud cover and a slight breeze.

next time head twards the **** there is a rock shelf out there.. it drops off about as far as you can cast with a weighted brushhog. i picked up a niiiice one there last year about 4 or 5 =)

Fished Thur. nt. tourny on Reba last nt. Had three keepers on jigs in the grass. Caught several and lost a nice 31/2 pounder. Won!!!!
