Catfish and meteor watching

Hey all,

I'm thinking that in mid-August I might try something I haven't done in about 15 years, and that's night-fishing for catfish.

Every year around August 13 I try to get out to watch the Perseid meteor shower, and this year I figured, why not combine that with some catfish?

I'm hoping to get some recommendations on where to go. I want someplace away from city lights, so that rules out the Ohio River near Louisville, or any lakes or ponds really close by.

I'm considering places not too far from Louisville: Taylorsville Lake, Rough River Lake, the Kentucky River not far from Eminence.

Would anyone mind offering an opinion on where the catfish are best and the stars are brightest?

edited to add: Oh year, for what it's worth, I don't have a boat, so I'll be bank fishing.
