After having such a good day yesterday at Banklick Creek I decided to head out there again today. I got out from 3pm-5pm. The air temp was 85 degrees. The heat index was 95 degrees. The sun was ducking in and out of the clouds and there was a slight wind. The water became slightly stained overnight and had risen a few inches. Started out throwing a Rebel Crickhopper with a couple top water strikes but no takers. So then I switched to a 4" green pumpkin tube jig on an 1/8 oz jig head. Had to cast into shady areas that were deep enough to not be able to see the bottom. Ended up landing 8 smallmouth and 3 rock bass and lost 2 halfway through the fight. All fish were within the 6"-10" range with the exception of the one in the pic which was closer to 12" and sadly enough my biggest catch of the day. After losing my last two tube jigs due to terrible casts into the trees on the opposite bank I tried a Rebel Wee Craw with absolutely no takers and then a pumpkin seed lizard which produced a few bites but wasn't able to hook any of them. Still not a terrible day though. Hope everyone else had a good day on the water today! Tight lines!
