What is the easiest and better knot to tie for these baits. I understand that it is best to let them run free at the knot. What kind of knots are you guys using? Thanks

Rapala knot...have used it for years with great success! If there is a split ring on the lure I get rid of it and tie my line directly to the eye. Check out www.animatedknots.com...or google Rapala knot.
Thanks for the ideals.
I use a palomar knot for just about everything. Very easy to tie and if you slobber the line up pretty good before you cinch it down it won't fail you.
I agree with metalfish. Thats the only knot I use for everything. Not saying its the best for all lures, but the one I have the most confidence in.

Loop knot for topwater, it gives the bait more action. Palomar for everything else for me
I use a small snap on the line. Gives the plugs good movement and it is real easy to switch out plugs.

Palomar nearly 100%. I watched a Hank Parker show years ago where they tested knots and it was the only one that would hold 100% of the line strength. No better reason that that to use it.
