Nolin Report 10/12/11

Fished Rock Creek yesterday from 12:30 until dark. Caught a few on a spinner bait and a Shadrap. Caught around 25 on a 6" watermelon lizard mostly off points. Only one keeper and several right at 15". Most hits were in 4'-6' of water. Temperature was 70-71.

Thanks for the report. Looks like I'll be headed out there on Sat. Looks like we're going to have a little cold front come in though. Would like to know how the bite it either today or tomorrow.

They start pulling the lake down Sunday and they drop it a total of 25ft. About 6ins a day!!! So it takes sometime to get it down to winter pool.

Would be nice if they started tomorrow as thats when I'm fishing down there. Maybe it will still be a good day.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 69. West wind between 5 and 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

If you go to the national weaher site you can click on the map and find the forecast for anywhere in KY. You got to get tech savy these days. The national weather site also has telephone numbers for the Louisville, western KY, and eastern KY that you can call and get updated weather forecasts also.
Good Luck update us. I plan to try NRL on Monday before the next rain front hits. Let me know if you find any stained water and shad back in the creeks.

When they pull the lake use a rebel crawdad crankbait off rocky points, it has worked wonders for me in the past . The crayfish are looking for new homes and are moving around allot

We fished the river area last Sat i got 7 in 2 hours of fishing the biggest was 18in

They actually started pulling it Saturday. I fished yesterday, caught a few on craw imitators. Two keepers. It was a beautiful day on the water till the wind started gusting.
