Fished nolin tailwater with my 4 year old son kurt. I heard they stocked a bunch of trout in it a few days ago. I couldn't tell we used orange trout bait red worms and threw roostertails. Not even a single bite.

Yup
I never understood why they would continue stocking the Nolin river below the dam after Sept, when they stop stocking much better trout waters such as Trammel Creek? Nolin tailwaters simply can not sustain trout for any lengthy period of time. The more water come out of the dam, the worse it is for the trout there...and for the trout fisherman. I always stayed away from there, especially since Trammel Creek is just ideal trout waters...cold and clear. I wish they would have stocked TC year round...really going to miss that little creek, good times.

Yeah really! I've been going around Tennessee and Kentucky trying to find trout rivers and streams to fish. I went to wolf creek 200 mile round trip portland tn I get there and they got the sluice gate open thr river was to rough for me to get on it. So ihad to fish the hatchery stream and didn't catch crap. My. Favorite. Place for trout is the caney fork river @ smithville tn.man its a great river with loads of large trout between 4 and8 lbs
