Taylorsville trip with new Lowrance HDS-7

Just got back from Taylorsville. Started fishing at 3:30pm and Stopped at 6:30pm. We caught 12 fish with 1 being a keeper. We used crank, spinnerbait, and Jerk baits. Most the fish came on spinnerbait but the bigger fish came on cranks and jerkbaits. There's my report but the real reason I am posting is brag on my new HDS-7 sonar/GPS unit. Simply put. I love it. Thanks to all who posted their opinions on the unit, they were spot on. Could someone on the discussion board let me know what INEXPENSIVE units will connect with the HDS-7. I really wnat to put a unit on the bow and be able to connect it with my HDS. If I am thinking correctly I can use the features of the HDS unit on a seperate unit up front. Thanks for any info.
Oh yeah, for me on Taylorsville, this was an excellent trip

i put an hds 7 on the bow of my boat--the hds 7 at my console is connected to the one on the bow by an ethernet cable--if you want to go a bit cheaper you can put a hds 5 on the bow--if your thinking about structure scan down the road than i personally wouldnt go any smaller than a hds 7

    good fishin

I probably will put another 7 on the front, when I buy the Side imaging will I need to buy for both units or just one. Will the ethernet cable allow me to use just one Side imaging transducer
Oh, by the way, thanks for the info.

structure scan will give you both down scan and side scan and you only have to buy one unit it will work on both hds units if connected by ethernet cable usually if you buy both structure scan and hds unit at the same time its cheaper than buying separtely

Yeah, I wish I could have afforded the structure scan with my first unit, maybe I will be able to with my second, it'll be a while. My wife doesn't seem to understand the need for a big screen TV for my boat but I'm working on her. LOL Thanks a million
