Cold and foggy, idled from State Park to Briar Creek due to fog. Not a lot of activity, tried main lake and back in creeks. Apparently the spook bite was on in the upper part of the lake. My best was a 2lbs largemouth on a jig. Resorted to finesse tactics to salvage the day.

I have not caught a single white bass this year. Two years ago I had a limit in 30 minutes on a white Rooster Tail when they were busting on shad on main lake. This year and last, didn't catch any.
I been thinking about heading up river from Wax looking for them White bass. Get up in the shallower waters to where I don't have to worry about you swamping me. Thats a good thing about a 14' river jon.
Hey coombro I'm my report I was fishing the rock creek area in the backs of the coves getting into the big ones on crankbaits!!
I am curious if can you get pretty far back in a cove like that with most boats, or do you need to be in a John boat or maybe only a canoe?
The reason I ask is I have ordered a 16 ft V-style boat and one of the lakes I plan on fishing is Nolin.
Thanks
Yes you can I was in a 17ft bass boat!!
Yeah you can now ,but once they get it down to winter pool upper Nolin gets mighty trickie.
Coombro is right once the lake gets down to winter pool you don't need to be in the upper end (River above Wax, Wax itself, Rock creek, on so) if you don't know the lake super good!!!!!
I don't know, my boat drafts pretty shallow, I might be able to make an exception just for you.![]()
