I'm thinking about fishing for Smallmouth. Is it worth the trip?

I am not a smallie guy really but we catch a few this time of year while spooning or jigging for walleye. I have casted pearl jigs with shad tails or shiners into the rip rap and caught several on the south end of the lake. Some will spoon and blade bait for the smallies aswell. Note the water level has been dropped for the winter so use the south most ramp at Bonwell and take a four wheel drive and it can get slick from the water level drop.
Anybody that wants to go give me a shout. Get your Silver Buddys 1/4 oz and go tear up some smallies!
Thanks for the info. I might try fishing on Friday since I'm off work. Unfortunately Thursday and Friday the temperature is going to drop significantly. Might make the fishing tough.
Silver Buddies, Hair Jigs, Deep Running Crankbaits, and maybe a Swimbait will be in my arsenal for the day.
Fished Brookville yesterday from about 7:30 - 2:30. Not used to this cold, especially cruising 50 mph down lake as the sun is still coming up. Fished three different spots - The dam, Fairfield Causeway and an old road bed up from Gar Hill. Ended up with 7 total, three Largemouth, three Striper, and one Walleye most of which were 2-3 lbs. Caught fish on deep diving crankbait and silver buddy. Unfortunately did not catch the elusive smallie I came for. Maybe next time.
that's good to hear, I almost made the trip this morning, but had some things come up. Probably best, the winds have been pretty strong today, I can't imagine what it would have been like on Bville today. Thanks for the report & congrats!
