I think they post a date a week or so in advance before stocking. Not 100% sure though. Keep an eye on it though.

I've bought my 14' river jon with the Cumberland River in mind. Rigged it for that type river. Lower levels I can run the river or higher levels. Smaller boats do have their advantages. Gone are the days when the flow would go from 720 cfs to 20,000 + in a couple hours. You'd launch in ankle deep water yet come back to 20' of water after a day on the CR. Dangerous for sure in those days as the water rose quickly and furiously. Really turned the trout on! I even had a trolling motor on the front and back as you constantly had to keep an eye out down stream for hazards during the rise. Two trolling motors as when "fish on" one of us could navigate boat going down stream while the other played fish. Now days the flow is consistent and river level remains same for longer periods of time. Never under estimate the power of a river for sure yet the Cumberland flow now is very manageable even in smaller boat. Just keep an eye out down stream. Trout are very scattered at the moderate flows. If you can catch an increase in flow they go nuts!

Yeah I'd like to have a 16' flat bottom with a 8 hp merk big enuff where 3 can fish but small enuff to get in places with shallow waters. The boat I hqve now is 10' at the most I've got an old evenrude moter but I think its to heavy 4 it it sits pretty low when I'm in the back with just a battery and trolling moter

Add some rocks up front to balance it out. Have done that many a time in my 10' jon and have done it to balance out my canoe. FYI they dropped the flow at Cumberland river down to 3,000 something yesterday. Be a good time for you to check it out.

Yeah thanks for the info . With a man in the front and trolling moter and two batteries should level it out nicely . Wish I could cheak it out today but it's 100 miles from where I live.
