    SI on trolling motor

    Do you any of you all put SI on your trolling motor if so how well does it work?

    I have for several years now. No problems. I would make two suggestions though. Use a 998si unit...easier to see when standing up. The other is to get a transducer shield. You can search the name and find the site.

    I have a 1197 at the bow and console and no issues. A large unit on the front deck is a must for viewing, a 998 at minimum, anything less and you won't be able to see anything without bending over all the time.

    the only problems I have heard with having it on your tm are if you have to turn the motor Tlot you booger up your picture and you can get some interference while running the tm. Both of these can be overcome.
