Does anyone spearfish the rough fish in kentucky?

I recently got into spearfishing/freediving since moving to FL from KY. Its a blast and a real rush to hold your breath as long as possible and sneak up on that big fish and stone him cold.

Im not sure what it would be like in freshwater though as I dont like to get into murky water. At least up there you arent constantly looking over your shoulder for the man in the grey suit wanting to take a bite out of you or your catch.

Plus you can only spear rough fish and if that doesnt include catfish, IMO, I dont see the point in just killing a fish besides the invasive species.

I had thought catfish were considered rough fish. And besides ill eat any fish i can spear. Like you said though, i wont have to worry about sharks up here. What speargun would u recommend for the murkey water?
