Night bite is already over if you're talking abouty using slivers, long bill rouges, Lona A's, and baits of that nature. We caught 24 the weekend before last and 1 last weekend.. Water is 71 at the Dam..

they ate the hooks off a redfin this morning the last hour before daylight.....shorts, shorts and more shorts. oh yeah i forgot to mention all the shorts we caught
2 buddies had 4 keepers the first hour after dark last night on thundersticks.

p.s. what the heck is up with these hooked fish swimming right in to the bank..... i mean slamming into the wall and rolling around right against the rock ? anybody else notice this? ive never seen this before ?

I think they are trying to return the lure to where they found it. You know, like getting the dangerous materials out of the way of the kids.

    Stripernut,
I also saw something for the first time and that is a walleye jumping out of the water right after a hookset. This weekend we were fishing on Lake Erie and my brother-in-law set the hook on a nice walleye and it came stright to the surface and jumped... They normally go straight down and never straight up.... It must be all the HOT weather / water early in the year. Its making them crazzzzyyy...

Contrary to what was said the night time bite is on very strong. A buddy had 18 Saturday night & another buddy had 10 Sunday night.

Only half of dbayponyc queston has been answered. We no the night bite is doing good but where are the big ones located? I have a friend that is fishing Conley Bottom but he told me there were no shad up on top but still caught some stripers. I haven`t fished Cumberland in a while but fished Dale Hollow last week and you will have no problem finding the shad there, they are on the banks.

there are shad everywhere on top most of the night, they come up andd go down like they always do. as far as the "big" ones....well "big" is a relative term on c-land anymore, but if we are talking keepers they are on the rock walls , gravel flats, points, up in the creeks etc etc. but you will have to wade through dozens of shorts to get to the keepers (and you may get lucky and get your keepers quick, its a crap shoot at best).
