I actually would love to sit down with the ex-pres.......maybe take him fishing or something......Wouldn't that be GREAT.

Heck, I'd take the current one fishin if I had the opportunity.

I've never had the opportunity to meet or talk with a prez or ex prez before. I did talk with Dan Quayle once, MANY MOONS ago....but that is as close to the prez.

My mom actually talked to Harry Truman once. She was on a train at Grand Central Station with my sister. They were just arriving, and headed to the harbor to take a boat to Germany. My mom was a very young mother, probably 19 or 20 yrs old at that time, and didn't know who he was, and didn't understand all the commotion around her. He patted my sister on the head, commented about her bright red hair, and chatted up my mom. It wasn't until the papers came out the next morning that my mom "understood" that she had just talked to a past president of the United States.

    Later,

    Geo

I am surprised he is not busier playing golf or hunting or whatever retired people do. He must have a ton of friends to play cards with or whatever. He started his retirement with his first public speaking engagement in Calgary which suprised the heck out of me that he would do his first one in Canada but he did. He talked about his 2 terms in office and 9/11 and the war on terror etc. Would have been very interesting. Texas and Alberta are very very similiar as they are both rich oil and cowboy country. He must like it there. He must have run out of places to speak. Nice to see him looking well but he definitely needs to find a hobby. I wonder what Laura is doing?

I thought it was odd, that a man with his means didn't have anything better to do. never once thought it to be a joke. got me good. the Obama phone deal was a good one.
